Mental Health Checklist for Tech Workers

When it comes to our mental health, it’s easy to feel like we’re invincible. We’re smart and dedicative, and we’re in a great field with a lot of opportunities. But the truth is, our mental health is just as important as our physical health, and we need to be aware of the warning signs that something might be wrong. It’s not always easy to admit that we’re struggling, but it’s important to reach out for help if we need it.

Here is a small checklist that you might need to seek professional help:

  • You’re struggling to concentrate or focus on work.
  • You’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed more often than usual.
  • You’re relying on alcohol or drugs to cope with your stress.
  • You’re withdrawing from friends and activities that you used to enjoy.
  • You’re having difficulty sleeping or you’re sleeping too much.
  • You’re experiencing unexplained aches and pains.
  • You’re suddenly losing or gaining weight (with the same diet).
  • You’re having intrusive thoughts or flashbacks.
  • You feel hopeless or helpless more often than not.
  • You’re considering harming yourself or someone else.
